Pre School

Our Pre School has a great team of three full time staff and up to 26 children a day. The Pre School has a set routine that allows the children the stability and education they need building up to their school years. The Pre School program follows the Early Years Learning framework and is structured around the children’s interests. Our Pre School is separated into three age groups, the Possums, Kangaroos and Koalas. These groups take place on a daily basis and consist of age appropriate, educational opportunities for the children. Each group prepares the children for the next.

The Koala group is made up of the four year old children and is run as a school readiness program. This ensures the children are writing their names, letters and beginning to read ready for the school year ahead of them. Throughout the day the Pre School children are provided the option to join in five group times. News time is great for confidence building. The children are encouraged to bring something from home, for example a bug found in the garden or photos from a family holiday. A language group is held teaching the children letter recognition and letter sounds along with, day, month, season and weather. This helps build concentration skills. A music and meditation time is helped along with a physical activity time which promotes the children’s health and well being. The final group is a quiet time story time. The Pre School is a fantastic sized room with a large outdoor play space, the children are offered indoor and outdoor play throughout the day.

Garden Street Early Learning Centre Maroubra Junction offer quality childcare in Maroubra Junction catering for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Our Maroubra Junction childcare centre manager Katherine encourages a day care environment that makes the children feel safe whilst enjoying the freedom to express themselves as individuals. Our Childcare Centre provides nutritional meals, nappies and provide a strong foundation for early education.
